Philip Cracknell has posted about the Haynes family on the Stanley Camp discussion list:
[...]
It seems George enlisted in HKVDC but I only have his rank (Pte) and service no. 4403. I am not sure what Coy he was in. I understand he was shipped to Japan but I am not sure on which draft. (Tony - any idea ?)
His wife Joan was interned in Stanley (where I believe she had twin children although my data base records DoB as 1941 - I dont have the exact date - and it may have been in 1942 ie whilst interned ?
I only have these brief details:
Haynes, (Mrs)Joan Mary. Wife of George Haynes HKVDC POW 1914 13/89
Haynes, John Charles. Infant son of above 1941 13/89
Haynes, (Miss) Diana Sybil. Infant Daughter of above 1941 13/89
