Soon, I will be visiting a very special family friend in New York City who is in her late 80s. She used to live on Tin Hau Temple Road about where the present Magnolia Building is - very low street number. I remember the place.
If any readers can tell me, I would love to tell her how the place has changed after one-half century. The great woman helped my mother carry this little baby running into interior mainland away from the invading soldiers.

Hi Old Timer,
Not an area I know very well, but I found a video on the web showing how things have changed:
Tin Hau Temple Road
Mr. B. You and your web site never disappoint me. What a great change I see. Where the Magnolia building and the next building are, there were once single dewellings sitting on lots having about 30~35 foot frontage.
I just survived driving in Manhattan after getting lost several times in Bronx and Queens when all I wanted to go to was Chinatown in lower Manhattan. Next time, I will drive during the day time and memorize beforehand all my coordinates. But this is one big and great city with so many buildings and places to see.
Tomorrow, my family will invade Manhattan again.
