- 1946, Aug 9 - Returned from leave

- 1946, Sep 22 - Resigned
So back to Hong Kong, working again in a government role, but just for a month.
The 1951 copy of The Journal of the Royal Sanitary Institute lists a William Edward Barry TANNER in Kuala Lumpur.
