Marker stone without BP number

The location of this stone is on the top of Chung Wan Ting (涌灣頂) of Crooked Island. I can only found WD was marked on the stone. Since the shape is similar to other BP marker stones. I wonder this stone also belongs to the BP marker stone.

First time I have seen a stone marker with the markings "WD" on an island. Looks like an early form of a trigonometric station. As noted here (double click) the early surveys of the New Territories (NT) did include Crooked Island (Kat O) in 1900. An interesting read. Note the clay cylinders to mark early traverse stations.

For reference, the Chung Wan Teng stone marker is to the east of the current trig station at  Kai Kung Leng

Dear moddsey

Thanks for your reply. This marker stone not only as a role of boundary stone, but also as a trigonometric station. But i not sure this stone was established in 1900 or not. I think it might have another clay cylinders during 1900.

Thanks for your interesting notes provied.
