Cyril Brown was born in
Cyril Brown was born in County Cork on January 12, 1904.
He died in February, 1997 aged 93.
Most of his working life was involved with the Missions to Seamen. After the war he was responsible for re-establishing Missions in the main Japanese ports.
In 1956 he was made a chaplain to the Queen and awarded CBE.

Cyril Brown could have been
Cyril Brown could have been responsible for writing the Stanley community song titled ‘Sail Away’ (see https://gwulo.com/node/10389). I only say this because I have in my possession a somewhat elderly copy of the song (typed version) which bears Cyril’s full signature at the end – nothing definite to back this up but it’s perhaps an indication that the song originates from him.
