Thank you Phil,— just been reading about this building but not found anything that says why it was surrounded by high wire fencing. Maybe still there after Japanese occupation?. Bryan.
Hi Bryan. The camera position indicates the picture was possibly taken from the vicinity of Argyle Street barracks/camp. The college was still being used by the military in the 1950s, but I believe it had returned to school use by the latter part of the decade. Phil
Thanks Phil.for pointing out to me that they are different buildings, should have looked closer before uploading them. Did visit Argyle Barracks on one occasion when stationed at Sham Shu Po camp. Will now reload the photos separately for clearer I.D. Bryan.
The background of the second unidentified image shows Kowloon Peak and after a bit of thought I wonder if this building was on Lomond or Forfar Road. The angle seems to me to be perpendicular to Argyle and Boundary Streets.

LaSalle College
The domed building is LaSalle College on Boundary Street. The view is looking north perhaps from Argyle Street area.

Other building
I suspect the other photo might show a residential building along Boundary St.
Lower Photograph
The curved building in the lower photo may be the building at 10 o'clock.
