I think that this photogrph was taken in Wan Chai. The Tsang 'Sock' Piano Co. sign, and the Cable and Wireless sign should help somebody to provide an precise location.

Appears that Cable and Wireless had shared the building with Rediffusion. The location was at the junction of Arsenal Street and Hennessy Road as shown here The same watch and tyre adverts can also be seen.
