Would anyone have photos of the Royal Hong Kong Regiment and Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force Banners/Guidon which have been laid-up in the Cathedral on the disbandment of these Units before the handover in 1997? If so, may I please be sent details.

Walmer may be interested to know that the RHKR website you mention,  The Colours and Guidon of the Volunteers,  contains images of the Colours and the Guidon. The Colours belonged to the HKVDC and not the Regiment, but were handed to the Regiment for safe-keeping. Strangely, the image of the Regimental Colour does not show the Battle Honour. The Colours are laid up in St John’s Cathedral and are in a dreadful state.  They were laid up when the Regiment was changed from an infantry battalion to a reconnaissance battalion, and the Regiment was granted its own Guidon. The Guidon was deconsecrated when the Regiment was disbanded, and I believe is now held by the Regimental Association.

The  Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force was granted a Squadron Standard in 1972.  The Standard was laid up in the Cathedral when the RHKAAF was disbanded in 1993, and is I believe still there. An image of the Standard may be found by googling HKAAF Standard, then History – RHKAAF and clicking 1971-1993.

Here's the link to that last page Henry mentions: http://www.rhkaaf.com/index.php/history-1971-1993.html, which links to images http://www.rhkaaf.com/images/stories/History_In_Photos/RHKAAF_Standard… and http://www.rhkaaf.com/images/stories/History_In_Photos/HRH_Prince_Charl…
