As long as I have remembered, the shape of the table at Veranda was the square one in 1970s. I regret I could not take many photos there at the time.
I have also loved the bar ( the Bamboo Bar?) at the hotel. The reappearance of this bar at new Repulse Bay building was admirable. The staff re-created the exactly same blades of the fan on the ceiling from the old blueprints Peninsula group had kept.
It was said Henry King, director of “Love is a many splendored thing” was so favorite this hotel that he had year-round contracts on his room with the hotel.( I heard most of 32 suit rooms have been year-round contracts on the room.)
