Ronald HOLMES [1913-1981]

From BAAG papers, 1943:

T/Capt D R Holmes.  Secret Operations, India.  Attached BAAG Waichow, China.  Member of "Z Force" and later of Recce Unit, Hong Kong.  Instructor at training course for Recce Unit Nov 41.  During hostilities on Hong Kong operated with Capt Teesdale behind Japanese lines, destroying enemy MT etc. Left New Territores 24 Jan 42, and attached to Oriental Mission, China, then lent to BAAG Jun 42 for whom he has carried out recce in the New Territories where he lived and negotiated with the "red" guerillas.  When on leave did part refresher demolition course at Poona Feb 43 before returning to China.  Expert Cantonese speaker..
