This is a photo of the Inverness Road Squatter Area in Kowloon City, taken from atop the Checkerboard Hill. At the bottom of the hill is what is now Inverness Road, with Junction Road being located at the bottom of the valley.
The graves on the hillside to the left are New Kowloon Cemetery No. 1, also known as the Chinese Christian Cemetery, which opened in 1904. The modern concrete building to the right is Musang College, and the tall building between the hill and the Kai Tak runway is the Kowloon Walled City.
