The button looks like a standard button from a British/Canadian battle dress uniform, although 3 holes look a little odd (perhaps trousers or from webbing pouches?).
The big brownish item, is from a Japanese type 91 grenade. It is a booster which screws into the bottom and then can be used to fire it a couple of hundred meters from a 50mm Knee mortar.
The smaller item on the left, looks like the striking pin, also from a Japanese T91 Grenade.
The top item, on the booster, is familiar but I can't place it at the moment. Is that lettering on it? I think I have found one before somewhere. I'll have a think.

Hope this reaches forum this time.I will be in hong kong 22/2 to7/3 & would appreciate the company of a like minded metal detective/Hong Kong history enthusiest.I have some great sites to investigate that may have have remained untouched to date(thanks to Tony Banhams books & Google earth maps
In short : No - we haven't found it yet dispite our best efforts. There is a hand drawn map that is on Tony Banham's Website (October 2012) which seems to suggest that it maybe further to the East, below Mt Parker. However, We haven't been out to check, although we have walked through that area a few times without noticing it.
In this case to hold any advance along the the Taikoo path (Mt Parker road).towards the gap.Obviously any such pill box would be positioned so as to afford abroad field of fire preferably on or near a bend where the enemy would bunch up & slow down.
On my walks up & down Mt Parker road on my last two visits only three sites come to mind .

Is there any one out there who has found or knows the whereabouts of pb 45 (south east face of mount butler & its defensive positions.
It was for many years the lost city of atlantis of HK pillboxes.Any information greatly appreciated

Based on your info re Banhams placing pb 45 closer to Mt Parker I hahad another sleepless night.
Frankly that contradicts what we allready know(page 106
(22.34)page123(00.30).
Surely the purpose (strageticly) of a pb is to slow down or halt an advance along a route the enemy may take to reach their objective
