I can remember about this date a huge squatter-hut fire up on HoMan Tin Hill, above the KCR workshops.

I think this photo is of the same area - do the buildings you're describing show up on it?
PWD Workshops, Hung Hom
Yes they do, but they're not distinct. They are directly across Chatham Road from the open field of the Cable and Wireless Station. It would be great to get a better photo of that area. I thought maybe KCR would have photos of their old Hung Hom Workshops where more detail would show up or aerial photos.
