Underground holiday destinations

Hi there,

For those who could not afford flying around the globe for such underground adventures one might like to consider getting the sets of DVDs published by the History Channel

I bought the first season pack at local HMV early last year.  It's in the documentory section.  I am uncertain whether they still have stock now, however.

Best Regards,

T

the City Hall is built on medieval streetsthey sheered the tops off, it goes down a hill to create a flat surface and built the city hall on top i hope to go this summer

We had a chance to visit this place, Mary King's Close, a few years back and enjoyed it. At that time our guide told a gruesome story of the houses barricaded shut when plague hit the area, and remaining locked until all the inhabitants starved to death. Today, Wikipedia says that's a myth, though there was voluntary self-quarantine by victims of plague. I wonder which description your guide will use?

There are also the Edinburgh vaults, which we didn't see, and some even more adventurous destinations which we definitely weren't dressed for!

Should be a good trip,

David
