The Japanese tunnel, cave and observation 'window' was where the vegetation on the left meets the camp road, and on this photograph where a dark line cuts the slope down to the road. It's possible that by the time Paddy took this photograph, the tunnel and cave had been destroyed for safety reasons. In early 1958 Andrew Suddaby was in there when several construction workers were inspecting it.
