A comment on uniforms: Sikh Crown Sergeant or more likely Sergeant Major, turban no Force badge.Would appear to be armed, revolver butt forward on left hip, though no lanyard, rank insignia on right arm only, following the British Army practice in some infantry regiments.Mohammedan Constable, note style of turban.Cantonese constable with painted crown on straw headress. All wear white metal buttons and their black leather belts bear the 'snake' fastener, which design dates back to the American Civil War.All would bear their identity numbers in white metal on their collars ( Indians B xx,  Cantonese C xx ).
