The tram tracks to the left of photo curve in towards today's Jackson Rd to meet up with Des Voeux Rd Central. The photographer would be standing where the former City Hall (now the old Bank of China Building) used to be.

Photo courtesy of reader 'moddsey'. In a photo from the 1910's this building is called Wellington Barracks, used by the British Army. When the Royal Navy returned to Hong Kong after the Second World War, the original HMS Tamar had been scuttled, so the Wellington Barracks became their new base and was renamed 'HMS Tamar'.
