A fascinating connection between a prominent Kuala Lumpur family, their historic properties, and the momentous 1911 Chinese Revolution, thanks to two seemingly disparate historical accounts.

In his December 2014 doctoral thesis, "Salvation from Above: The Christian Missions of the To Tsai Ui Tong, The Independent Church of Hong Kong, 1843-1926," submitted to the University of Hong Kong, Ip Sum Ming unknowingly touched upon a figure whose full significance he may not have recognized: Yuen Ying Fong.
