A Parsee doctor to the staff of the South China Morning Post back in the days when it was based at Wyndham Street, Hong Kong. His clinic was based at Wong Nai Chung Road in Happy Valley.
He was a graduate of the Hong Kong University in 1929, played competitive bowls for Craigengower Cricket Club and was a member of the Kowloon Indian Tennis Club.
In 1900, together with Ho Fook, Lau Chu-Pak founded the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, of which he later became Chairman. He was one of Hong Kong's chief philanthropists of the early 20th century.
Director of Education
The Secretary of State for the Colonies has announced that he proposes to appoint Col. T.R. Rowell as Director of Education in Hong Kong.
Col. Rowell joined the Education Department in April, 1923 and taught at the Central British School, King's College and the Ellis Kadoorie Indian School.
In 1936, he was acting Inspcetor of School and from 1924 he lectured at the Evening Institute in science and teacher training. He also lectured in geography at Hong Kong University.
William Kearley Reynolds is mentioned in the list of mourners at the funeral of my grandfather Charles Warren, immediately after his next of kin. The Jurors Lists of 1922-1924 give him as Secretary to C.E. Warren & Co. Ltd. His name eluded my cousin Brian Lewis when he was researching the history of the company. None of my family has ever mentioned it. Reynolds seems to have taken an administrative role in the company immediately after John Olson jnr left it.
