PROGRAMME NO. 2.

From the Peak via Magazine Gap to the Clock Tower.

Leaving the Peak Tramway Station take the road to the left proceeding by a gradual ascent over the hill, still continuing to keep to the left. Here the views are charming. The mountain slopes covered with pine trees interspersed with rocky precipices and be-sprinkled with granite boulders. Mount Kellet on the right, the Port of Aberdeen in the valley with the beautiful open sea, girt in by high-land in the far distance.

During the rainy season cataracts are visible in every direction, pouring down to contribute to make up the mountain torrent, which through the gully below, is
hastening away to the sea.

The little English church is now visible, and beyond, a low gap opens up further lovely scenery, the summit of Mount Parker o miles away.

Through this gap keep to the right, when at a short distance, a sharp turn to the left gets over the most intricate part of the route. The walk is now a delightful one. An easy
road with much of interest on every hand. The wild flowers, the ferns, the variety of beautiful shrubs in bloom and the singing of the birds, contribute to show nature
off to wondertul advantage.

The varying hues of the foliage also help to give a finishing touch to the picture.

Half-an-hour over this charming hill road and the Magazine Gap with its umbrella seat is reached. Here turn to the left having the Harbour with its busy shipping and the central district of the City of Victoria in front of you.

A gradual descent full of interest will in forty minutes find you on the lower levels, where by reference to the map or plan of the Citv, you will soon be able to select your route to the Clock Tower.
