A busy day. Cleaned the hut, took all the wood work out — lime washed the place, carbolic sprayed etc, did everything except burn the hut down. If this doesn't kill off the bugs I give up.
Bought a fine pair of brown boots ¥15- I am well off on foot wear.
Many slept outside, the Japanese did not seem to mind — may try it myself.
