10 Mar 1943, Leo Landau's wartime diary

Submitted by Grace on

Cold and damp. The fall in went at 7:30 am on the double, what is it? Has somebody escaped? Thank God! No, just a practice call. Parcels good. Fine breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, sausage and coffee! Wonder for how long ---

Oswald addressed me by rank and placed me on a blanket fatigue.  The new order now - that everyone must have 3 blankets, so each of us was issued with an extra one.

The Camp Commandant was not satisfied with the way the men fell in today. I don't blame him, we were very slow.

Camp at present going very well, food standard - etc improved, plus parcel once weekly, all add up to a better frame of mind.
