Andrew Lim Hoy-Lan 林海瀾 (1897-1967) was a renowned educator in Hong Kong, co-founder and long-term principal of both Wah Yan College, Hong Kong and Kowloon Wah Yan College, and later also founded Tak Yan College.
Educational Life and Achievements
• Founding Wah Yan: In 1919, he co-founded Wah Yan College with Tsui Yan-sau, subsequently opening a Kowloon branch (i.e., Kowloon Wah Yan College) in 1924.
• Principal: He served as principal of Kowloon Wah Yan College for over a quarter of a century (1928-1952), laying the foundation for the school's development.
• Founding Tak Yan: In 1952, he founded Tak Yan College at the former site of Wah Yan College, Mong Kok, serving as its supervisor and principal.
• Death: He passed away on May 4, 1967, at his home in Ting Kau due to a heart attack, at the age of 70.

Andrew Lim Hoy-Lan 林海瀾 went to Singapore to work in the rubber industry in his early years. Later, while running a school in Hong Kong, he continued to be involved in the rubber industry, serving for many years as a director of the mainland rubber factory owned by Pang Kam-wing 彭錦榮.
Andrew initially taught at St. Joseph's College in Hong Kong, and later joined his colleague 徐仁壽 Peter Tsui's Wah Yan College (華仁named after Tsui's name and ancestral home of Wuhua五華), founded in 1919.
Tsui handled administration while Lin was in charge of teaching. Because of his strict teaching style, he earned the nickname "Tiger Lin."
In 1924, due to insufficient school buildings and an increase in students in Kowloon, he crossed the sea to establish Kowloon Wah Yan College.
