Knocklayd - House No 300 The Peak (10 Bluff Path) approx 1920-1978 [????-????]

KNOCKLAYD was a mansion on The Peak on the southern side of Bluff Path, No 10 to be exact. It seems to have first appeared in readily available Government records in about the 1920s. 
It is listed in the HK Government Gaztte of December 23 1924 as being renumbered from 107 to 300. It also appears listed in the KEY of the Map of the Hill District of The Peak in 1924. But strangely it is not shown on the actual Map either by name or as an outline of the house.

The first photograph that I have found that shows KNOCKLAYD is held by the US Library of Congress entitled "Bird's-eye view of buildings on mountain, Hong Kong". It is dated between 1890 and 1923. Catalogued LC-USZ62-118507.
The photo is fairly well known on Gwulo.com featuring many of the mansions that existed in the Gough Hill/Bluff Path area. But I dont think part of KNOCKLAYD has been identified as appearing on the photo before now.

The first map of The Peak on which I have seen KNOCKLAYD clearly marked is a Road Map of the Peak District of 1954 digitally available at HKmaps.hk (other than the 'mention' on the 1924 map. There is a snippet of that 1954 map, as a photo below, clearly showing the location of the House No. 300 of KNOCKLAYD and its location on the south side of Bluff Path.

KNOCKLAYD next appears clearly on the southside of Bluff Path (10 Bluff Path) with CLAVADEL below it on at 19 Gough Hill Road in 1970. With thanks to HKMaps.hk). 

So KNOCKLAYD was known to the HK Government (c/o the 1924 Peak Housing Renumbering Document and the Key of its 1924 map) as House no. "300 The Peak". 
And its location as KNOCKLAYD The Peak 300 is shown again on Bluff Path on the 1954 map. And again on the 1970 Map as "10 Bluff Path".

It is not yet known exactly when it was demolished, perhaps 1978 - (see one of the photo comments from below). The Sherwood's Bluff Development of six 3-storey Luxury Townhouses was built at 10 Bluff Path in 1981. 

It is also not yet known who it was owned by nor who its residents may have been over the years. Nor what might have happened to the house during WW2. There must be more photos of the house out there somewhere.

Indeed after a fair search on the Internet it is apparent that not much is known at all, outside of physical or digitised documents and records maybe still held by HK Government, Civil Organisations, Corporations, friends or relatives. 
Maybe AI models could help to uncover some of this sort of information for us.
