20 Kent Road - formerly a private house that was turned into a night cluib, called "Take One" in the 1980s. In May 1992 it was the location of a notorious incident involving Anita Mui being slapped by a triad boss, Wong Long-lai, when she refused to sing for him in a private room. Wong was later hospitalised in an machete attack and then shot dead whilst in hospital.
In the 1990s it was turned into a private temple but was subject to controversy due to the financial dealings of the owner and sat empty for many years. It was recently bought by someone and has been undergoing renovations.
The current building is the second generation structure on the site and looks to have been built circa late 1950s, replacing an original smaller Kowloon Tong european-style villa built circa 1935.
