Lamont's Lane was a short alley in Causeway Bay named after Scottish shipbuilder John Lamont, who built early Western ships in HK, including the first steamship in 1853, and established the Aberdeen dry docks in 1859.

This is the first and original location of Lamont's Lane before it was taken over by Jardine's Crescent in 1950.

1. From page 50 of "The Directory and Chronicle for China, Japan, Corea, Indo-China, Straits Settlements, Malay States, Siam, Netherlands India, Borneo, the Philippines, and Etc" in 1873 mentioned "Lamont's Lane" and "冧文巷"
1.1 Blacksmith's Lane (Ta Tit Hong) and Fuk Hing Lane both appeared on the book, as these lanes were all the early streets in Causeway Bay

2. From maps (hkmaps.hk references):
2.1 Unnamed lanes on "Plan of Victoria, Hong Kong Ref: 1865" resemble the streets nowadays and in 1901, this combined with pt. 1 and 1.1 show these streets were already in use before or starting in 1865
2.2 Lamont’s Lane ran northwest from the southern end of Fuk Hing Lane (“1897”, “1901”).

3. Lamont’s Lane in pt.2.2 and the streets nearby were renamed as “Jardine’s Crescent”
From HK Government Gazette No. 29 of 9th June 1950:

Proposed Name: Jardine’s Crescent

Description: Road extending from its west junction with Jardine’s Bazaar near Yee Wo Street, to its east junction with Jardine’s Bazaar near Pennington Street as shown colored red on plan No. R.H. 116 signed by the Director of Public Works and dated 5th June, 1950.

4. It appears again as Lamont’s Lane (Second Location) nearby as seen on Gwulo: map of all places

From Hong Kong’s Maritime Past (Scmp.com via the Wayback Machine):

Lamont’s Lane, in Causeway Bay, once recalled shipbuilder John Lamont. Once a short, private alley off Fuk Hing Lane, which runs from Jardine’s Bazaar to Jardine’s Crescent, Lamont’s Lane has been zapped by development.
