Huts(?) on Shek O Road [????- ]

The aerial photos from 1 Feb 1945 show a collection of structures near this location, two on the left side of the road, and ten on the right where the marker is located.

Does anyone know what they were used for?

Their outlines are still shown on the modern government map (they are only shown at zoom level 19 or higher). The satellite view shows no above-ground structures remain, but it looks as though some of the floors can still be seen.
