SUDDEN DEATH OF MR. FRED NORMINGTON
The death occurred at the Government Civil Hospital on Saturday afternoon of Mr. Fred Normington, Junior Charge Engineer at the Power Station of the Hongkong Electric Co.
Mr. Normington had been in indifferent health since his return from leave last November. He became alarmingly ill on Saturday and was taken by a colleague, Mr. S. Deacon, to the Hospital, where he died a few hours after admission.
Forty-one years of age, the deceased came out to Hongkong in 1920 to join the firm of Alex Ross & Co., Ltd., transferring to the service of the Hongkong Electric Co. in the following year. He was a keen lawn bowler, and was a member of the Hongkong Society of Yorkshiremen and, in Masonry, of Lodge Zetland.
Mr. Normington was married, and is survived, in addition to the widow, who is in England, by his mother and sister.
The Funeral
A large attendance which included many members of the office and station staffs of the Hongkong Electric Co. was present at the funeral, at which the Rev. Mr. H. W. Baines officiated, at the Colonial Cemetery yesterday afternoon.
