What a day! At last we got our Red Cross parcels just like getting a present from home.  We read all labels on tins and imagined we were reading mail from home.

Contents 1/4lb melting choc, 2 blocks sugar, 1 tin nestle milk, 1 pkt Maypole tea! 1 tin syrup, 1 tin syrup, 1 tin Margarine,  1 tin bacon, 1 tin cream rice, 1 apple pud, 1 tin beef & veg, 1 tin biscuits, 1 tin tomatoes, 1 cake of soap, 1 tin gelatine.  Oh boy!!

Forgot this 8.11.42 – single men had to sleep in gaol 10.11.42
