Clara Rowe née Moore Burke was the elder sister of Annie Louisa Olson. The two sisters were brought up and educated at the Canossian Convent in Hong Kong. Clara married Charles Rowe, a rubber planter, in Singapore in 1912. She died of puerperal fever the same year leaving no children. Family photos show Charles Rowe with his second wife and their son. I have been unable to discover where he was buried. In the 2005 version of his family memoir, The Hong Kong Legacy, Sean Olson relates that he found out that Clara's remains had been exhumed and cremated when the cemetery where she was buried was redeveloped. Clara was his great-aunt and he relates that he arranged for her remains to be interred behind a white Carrera marble plaque at Chao Chu Kang Columbarium, Singapore in Niche No: A02-19-119.
