Dolores Carroll is named as the Sponsor at the late baptisms (acceptance?) into the Catholic faith of both Marjorie and Iris Warnes at the Canossian Convent in 1926 and 1927 respectively. Marjorie and Iris would have had Protestant baptisms. I can't find any information about Dolores Carroll (even in the Carl Smith cards) but assume that she must have been known to Annie Olson who was responsible for arranging for her Warnes nieces to be cared for by the convent after the death of their mother, Elizabeth Warnes. Elizabeth would have had a considerable inheritance from her father, John Olson. This would have been placed in trust for the upkeep of the Warnes children until they attained their majority.

I'd be grateful to find out any more information about Dolores Carroll.

Dolores Braga, eldest daughter of Mr and  Mrs J. Braga, married William Joseph Carroll of Hong Kong 7th August 1915 at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Haiphong, as reported 14th August 1915 in the SCMP.

Further information on Mr Carroll and the exact wedding place of Mary Queen of the Rosary Cathedral in Haiphong, in Tonkin, French Indo-China (modern day Vietnam), with Dolores being from about 1898-c.1960.

Many thanks, David. I've added the bio details that you have kindly found. Am I right in thinking that the Braga family was Macanese? You may guess that I'm searching for the identity of the "unknown woman" photographed by herself on the terrace of 98a Wanchai Road and wrongly thought to be Elizabeth Warnes. I had thought that the "unknown woman" might be godmother to one of the Olson grandchildren and maybe she is, but I don't think Dolores Carroll sounds Caucasian enough to fit the appearance of the woman in the photo.
