Greetings learned ones ,
Does anyone know where the enrollment lists might be published for the above school ? I suspect that a great great uncle may have been a graduate given the backstory of his life as much ,as we know, which seems to mirror some of the information relating to graduates published by Wong Man Kong of the Hong Kong Baptist University in recent publications..
I will be visiting HK in the next week and do hope to access published information from the local libraries that might be useful but had thought that there might be other sources of information as well.
Regards

some clues of Dr. Legge's related reports, but not yet resolved
From Worldcat, it shows that one library has holding of the CD ROMs published by SOAS that may contain the lists in the 1849, 1850 Reports (with 58 names)
mentioned in Dr Wong's article. [1] But that may only be accessed by students or academic persons.
Searching on the SOAS online directory results in a sea of archive sources under the LMS collection (as illustration, link). I could not find anything like said reports though, tried using filters also.
If some readers with experiences in Special Collections may give some slight push or hint, that may help to navigate through the docs.
Else if communication with some SOAS archivist from lay persons is doable, it may be another way to know if a way forward, or not.
My guess is that they only exist in some box/folder in the SOAS library, as physical copy/letter.
At the time of Carl T. Smith's article [2] (1971), the footnotes show that other archive sources do exist then (per below name and filing references).
LMS, 5/2/5D, Legge, Report of schools, 23 April, 1952
LMS, 5/3/D, Annual Report of Hong Kong Mission, 25 January, 1954
LMS, 5/4/A, Annual Report of Hong Kong Mission, 12 January, 1955
LMS, 5/4/C, Annual Report of Hong Kong Mission, 8 January, 1956 (sample link)
(may they mention some names of other 70 - 58 = 12 boys, for the period c.1849-1956 ?
or, are they archived under different titles now ? lo, it is also possible that there are some cataloging errors)
Thus far are almost the limits what a layman searcher could reach.
Hope this illustrates some status quo.
