Hi Everyone, I'm a YouTuber that makes documentaries about Hong Kong.
I'm looking to do a short documentary about Swire - the premise being a short history of Swire's rise to prominence in Hong Kong, and how incredibly influential it is in Hong Kong's economy.
I was wondering if there were any resources you guys have which can add more to the research I'm already doing? Or any things about Swire I must point out?
Of course I'm doing all the desktop research with Google, AI platforms, YouTube, and Swire's website but if there's anything that the Gwulo boards can also share, that would be great!
Thank you
Robert Bickers's book, China…
China Bound: John Swire & Sons, and its World, 1816-1980 by Robert Bickers will be a good resource.

Have you been in touch with Swire Archives ? They surely must be able to assist you.
John Swire & Sons 1816-2016 Book
The above-mentioned book might be useful. It was published in 2016. The text was written by Charlotte Bleasedale and editors Maisie Shun Wah and Robert Jennings, who you might locate and contact.
It is an attractive coffee table book, I suspect commissioned by Swire for their bi-centenary, with many photos and a decent amount of text. It is in sections covering Swire's different operations.
