Hin Yuen (Pinyin - Xuanyuan) Ancestral Temple was the only temple in South China dedicated to the Yellow Emporer. It was founded by the Three Religions General Association and consisted of three connected traditional Chinese blue brick single-storey buildings. The site was originally owned by Fung Kei-cheuk (馮其焯). In 1950, San Nung School (新農學校) was founded in the temple. The school used the halls on both sides of the ancestral temple as classrooms. It was closed in the 1980s. Fung Kei-cheuk was the comprador of Kei Cheong Foreign Company (旗昌洋行) and Tsing Zhou Cement Factory (青州英泥廠). He was also one of the founders of the Chinese Holy Religion Association, the Three Religions General Association and the New Territories Agricultural Association. In 1990, the Tang family of Lung Yeuk Tau purchased the site and applied to the government to rebuild the hall. It was rebuilt into Wong Tai Temple in 2003. The plaque of the ancestral temple was preserved by a private individual.
