A block of arcaded tenements along the - since removed - middle section of Reclamation Street. The Kansu Street Jade Hawkers Bazaar occupied the site most recently, prior to the roadworks for the new highway being started.

The northern, curved end of the block, consisting of numbers 93 & 95, was demolished sometime between 1970 and 1973. The rest of the block being demolished later (more precise dates to follow).

See David's comment below for build info.

Under item 47 of the PWD annual report for 1914 the "Works commenced" lists 18 Chinese houses at K.I.L. 1286, Reclamation Street. Then in the report for 1915 they are shown under "Works completed".

Looking at the 1920 map, the "18 Chinese houses" means that the whole block was built at the same time.

many thanks David, I've updated the plot outline. In that case it looks like there are at least two houses at the southern end that faced Reclamation St that I haven't included (numbers 69 and 71?),three facing Kansu St and an extra one (facing Battery Street?).  I'll update the title to reflect that.
