Johann Karl Albert Jahreis was a German brewer who came to Hong Kong in the late 1880's to open a brewery.
Unfortunately it looks as though he died not long after he arrived in Hong Kong.
His grave is in Hong Kong Cemetery.

Note that the plague epidemic arrived in Hong Kong in 1894, so wouldn't have affected Mr Jahreis.
