Japanese tunnel next to the Dragon's Trail.  Opening is through a small crack through a thin wall of concrete. Around 8-9 feet in length, with a length of around 60 metres. The first section of the cave is quite wide and spacious, with a side chamber to the left, however it narrows into a small squarish passageway for around 5 metres, until you reach a vertical shaft with a rock pile, from which you can climb to reach an exit, which has a clear view of the bay below. The tunnel circumvents the entire ridge, and there is some trash within the tunnel, probably from public works workers.

Hi Dennisti,

Thank you for adding the pin.  I must have walked past that spot many times in 1957/8 and  in subsequent years without seeing the tunnel entrance.  Probably for many years it had been obscured by the concrete wall.

About a week ago a kind person sent me a link to an excellent video shot by a young Chinese couple who had explored the tunnels and who had then gone on to check out the ruins associated with the the old Cape Collinson battery.  Unfortunately the dialogue and related subtitles were in Chinese and I was unable to enjoy that aspect of the video.

Would it be possible for whoever made the video to add a link here so that I can enjoy it again and so that others with an interest in the tunnels might also enjoy viewing it?

Many thanks Andrew Suddaby.
