The timeline of the six pre-war buildings in today's Ma Hang Prison:
1939 - Built as storage huts under the pre-war Hong Kong Defence Scheme.
1942-1945 - Used as stables during the Japanese Occupation.
1947 - Taken over by the Prisons Department and called "Stanley Reformatory School".
1953 - Became known as "Stanley Training Centre".
1974 - Site converted into Ma Hang Prison
