At the entrance to the trail. Rain uncovered it. Didn't explore it, only spotted a big shaft-like tunnel leading down into earth. Probably Japanese tunnel. Next to concrete steps. Very obvious.

No other entrances found in the area and tunnel does not have breeze coming through so seems to be only exit (remaining)
Note that, this seems very similar only to the Devils Peak tunnels here https://gwulo.com/node/3115 which may have been mining probes. This could be a similar case as it is an atypical tunnel, unless it was previously linked to a small network - which would be similar to that of blacks link here https://gwulo.com/node/3112 which had a steep 'lookout tunnel' entrance
I find the steepness of the tunnel to be odd however. Don't think mines were in this region, but for a defensive standpoint, it makes some sense. There was a foodstore building in the general area during the Battle of Hong Kong, so it might have been dug by the Japanese to guard this place?
Agreed that I have no knowledge of mining activity here. Based on my experience, it is similar only to a few tunnels I have seen in HK.
Interestingly close by, I compared it to the blacks link complex entrance vertical entrance (https://gwulo.com/node/3112). Also in that, both have some concrete ruins around the exit (perhaps a previous attempt to seal them). Although, I could not find evidence of other exits after some poking around. As I would not think this tunnel would be 'stand-alone,' based on what we have seen.
The only other tunnels I have seen records of - that are a similar appearance, were those on Devil's Peak, as I mentioned before.
A bit of the same explanation before, but with some expanded thoughts. Good find in any case, unfortunately I don't deem it worth the slide in (even if I were to get some gear) - especially if there are seemingly no other exits.
I scoured the area below the tunnel, but I was not able to find any other entrances in the slope. The slope seems to have been heavily affected ( by the trail above, and the apparent excavations ), so any tunnel entrance is probably hidden under slope collapse or concrete.
