I'm currently looking at how to speed up the site. In particular viewing a photo's page is noticeably slower than on the old site.
Unfortunately while I'm looking into this there is some extra testing software enabled that makes the site even slower. I've also noticed it sometimes breaks the tagging and adding connections. Please bear with me, it should be worth the short-term hassle for better performance in the long-term.

I've made some changes to speed up loading a page for logged-in users.
The changes affect the "Add tags()" feature, and the box to edit tags when we're editing a page. If you notice any strange behaviour with either of those, please let me know in the comments below. I'll also be interested to hear whether you can notice any change in how quickly pages load - remember this change will only affect you if you are logged in.
