Writing of the Lysaught family in her book, "Policing Hong Kong - An Irish History" p. 330 Patricia O'Sullivan states: "William John had received at least some of his education in the USA, and seems, from passenger census and death rcords, to have been working there during his adult life. The death records show both his name and his mother's maiden name: given how unusual his surname is, this would surely suggest a correct identification. However, albeit many years later, his sister stated that he had died in Cork as a young man. He did not travel back with the family in 1922, and a William Lysaught is recorded as dying in Cork between early 1920, aged 16." Patricia has published a photo from the Murphy family collection identified as William Lysaught, son of J.J. Lysaught with three Murphy relatives on p. 331 of her book and writes that there is doubt that the death date of 1920 tallies with the image in the photo. This certainly seems to show an older man already beginning to go bald, unlikely at 16.
