I don't know if this is a recognised name for the place because I can't find any confirmation that it was an official quarry (in English at least), but the images of it show that quarrying work of some sort has been carried out. It was a popular filming location throughout the 1960s and 70s - before a Vietnamese refugee camp was built on the site. It doesn't appear to be on any list of recognised local quarries so I wonder what went on here - perhaps the stone was used for reclamation purposes?
Any more information on the place is appreciated.
