I'm not sure of the relationship between Charles Sassoon Gubbay and Harry Gubbay, mentioned in connection with Broadwood Road by Angela Niles in the posts on Annie Bond and childhood memories of the family house.  According to the Rate Book, my grandfather Charles Warren sold 16 Broadwood Road  I.L. 2128,  to C.S. Gubbay in 1916. It wasn't part of the C.E. Warren & Co.'s Ridge development and I don't know if the Warren family briefly lived at no. 16. I hadn't previously realized that the Gubbays' neighbour, Ivor Gourgey, listed at 17 Broadwood Road in 1917-18, was actually a nephew of Ellis and Elly Kadoorie and also a part of the Sassoon/Kadoorie/Gubbay clan.  I'm sure there's much more to say about Charles Sassoon Gubbay.
