Bedford Truck clip of HK

Hello! This link came up on our family WhatsApp, which shows an old promotional video for the Bedford truck.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=lxINOC9OIRs&app=desktop

Specifically, scenes of HK are shown from 9:11 onwards, and then more specifically it shows a truck ascending a mountain pass from 10:15. Apparently a sign names the road “the staircase”, which certainly doesn’t ring any bells: and the truck reaches the presumed peak at 11:00. At that point I see an unclear sign in the background (which I make out to be 1809ft, you might read something different) - which comes to 550m… and i’m still none the wiser.

Anyone have ideas on where this might be?

Thanks!

Hi tparker,

The topography from the promotional video did not match Hong Kong island or Kowloon peninsula. It looked more like the New Territories.

A peak with a height of 550m in the territory of Hong Kong is Kwun Yam Shan in the New Territories. The road leading to its summit, starting from Lam Kam Road going into Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Gardens seems to match what I can see in the video.
