CHINA SEA. HONGKONG.

The following information, relating to the approaches to Hongkong, has been received from Staff-Commander T. H. Tizard, R.M., H.M.S. Challenger, 1874:

Bunsansiah Rock (Passage Rock). —This danger, in the southern entrance of the Capsingmoon passage, is a pinnacle rock awash at low water, having depths of 8 to 10 fathoms close around it.

THE PORT - Harbour & Approaches.

Several lightbuoys have been erected during the year, one to mark Bunsansiah Rocks between Green Island and Cap Sui Mun, another on Bush Reef, Tolo Harbour. The power of Tathong Light has been increased and the visibility is now nine miles.

The current battery-operated light dates to ~1972

Interestingly, it is numbered 82, which was the number of the Tsim Sha Tsui (Blackhead Hill) light which was just decomissioned in 1971.
