My Great Grand Aunt Edith, known in the family as Edie, married David Christie of the Indo-China Steam Navigation Company on 17 December 1902 at St Peter’s Church, Hong Kong by Rev. J.K. France. The marriage announcement notes her name as Edith Jones and that she was from Melbourne and Sydney.

Edith Christie subsequently moved to Shanghai.  I am trying to locate any material of her time in Hong Kong.  Family history has her being an artiste, not a dancer, in her own words. Perhaps she came as part of a theatre troupe?

I cannot locate any records of her leaving Australia or arriving in Hong Kong.  I also have no record of her in time In the International Settlement of Shanghai, which is my primary area of study of the China coast and Treaty Ports.
