Dear all,

I am working on a project about historial paintings of Hong Kong. This painting is from the Hong Kong Museum of Art, dated around 1857. So far I can only identify St. John's Catheral and Government House in the middle. Could someone help me identify some other major buildings in the painting? And do you think it is an accurate visual portrait of Hong Kong in the 1850s? Anything strange or interesting in the painting? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks a lot!

I have uploaded an annotated version of the painting with many of the buildings marked. If you click on the picture below it will take you to the page with a key and links to the various building pages on Gwulo.  It is an accurate visual representation of Hong Kong in 1857.
