Given the address shown above is currently occupied by the Island Building - a common purpose to name building after the cinema - the address and marker on this page are considered preliminary.
Island Theatre was built sometime before WWII, but the exact date is unknown. Its operation was temporarily suspended during the war. As with its opening date, the date of closure is also not known though reported to be some time in the mid-1980s. Until better information becomes available, no opening or closing date has been assigned for this page.
