Mosque Village [????-????]

A nest of thieves at the back of the mosque on the hill-side on "Robinson Road immediately above Mosque Terrace".

1858 and 1866 - That the village had not been moved earlier was probably due to the fact that the Chinse landlords, named as Tun Aquan and Chun Ah Kun, had legal deeds to prove their ownership of the land on which the village stood.

THE imprudence of allowing the creation of that ill-placed nest of native houses called Mosque Village has been very forcibly exhibited by the difficulty lately experienced in uprooting it.
