Patricia was the daughter of Russian-born bookseller Boris Pasco. Her father was drawn into relief work by Kiyoshi Watanabe, and she soon joined him. The Canadians in Bowen Road Hospital, where Watanabe was assigned at that time, were having a particularly tough time because they'd only been in Hong Kong for three weeks before the attack and had no friendly local contacts to help and comfort them. Ms. Pasco wrote letters and even sent photos to some of the wounded Canadian soldiers, and in some cases doctors credited her with saving their lives by restoring the will to keep going.

After the war she married British officer Captain Alistaire Denholme. Kiyoshi Watanabe was an honoured guest and Major George Puddicombe sent a small gift on behalf of the Canadians.
